The pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing for classes in Grand Rapids, Great Lakes Bay, Lansing and Warren. The Diploma in Practical Nursing is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing for classes in Warren.

Occupational Therapy Accreditation

The entry-level Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), Inc., located at 6116 Executive Blvd., Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852-4929.  The telephone number for ACOTE, c/o AOTA, Inc., is 301.652.2682 and the web address is . Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).  After successful completion of this examination, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).  In addition, all states require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.  Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT Certification Examination or attain state licensure.

The Occupational Therapy program at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û adheres to all ACOTE requirements including timely notifications to ACOTE of changes within the MSOT program and/or °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û.  The members of the Occupational Therapy Department are responsible for demonstrating honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct in all dealings with ACOTE consistent with policies and procedures for honest and ethical behavior.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û is recognized for veterans’ training under the G.I. Bill for Veterans Educational Assistance. °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û, an independent, nonprofit institution, is chartered by the State of Michigan and is empowered to grant degrees; it is also certified by the State Approval Agency of the Department of Education.
